Mountain gorilla in Rwanda’s forest

Start with the permit

The international gorilla permit reference is USD 1,500 per person per trek. The minimum trekking age is 15. Confirm availability for your date before committing to the rest of your journey.

Make room for a variable hike

The gorilla family’s location determines the walk. Expect forest slopes and changing terrain; share your fitness, mobility and pacing needs early. Discuss support and suitable arrangements with Hillsome Trails team.

Pack for the forest

Sturdy hiking boots, long trousers and sleeves, a rain layer and gloves.

Plan beyond the trek

Allow time for the early briefing and recovery afterwards. Ask your quotation to identify permits, accommodation, transport, meals and any additional visits separately.

Check the details for your travel date.

Rules, fees and arrangements can change. Use the official source and discuss your route with Hillsome Trails team before confirming.
