Day 1: Kigali Nyungwe via Nyanza & Huye | Culture & Coffee Experience
Depart Kigali for a scenic drive southwest, stopping at Nyanza to visit the King’s Palace Museum, where Rwanda’s royal history and traditions come alive.
Continue to Huye for a visit to the Ethnographic Museum, one of East Africa’s finest, showcasing Rwanda’s culture, beliefs, and way of life.
After lunch, visit Mount Coffee for an interactive coffee experience, learning about cultivation, processing, and tasting Rwanda’s world-famous coffee.
Drive onward to your lodge near Nyungwe or Gisakura, surrounded by forest serenity, and enjoy dinner.
Day 2: Nyungwe Forest | Canopy Walk & Zipline Adventure
Begin your day with the famous Canopy Walk, strolling above the rainforest for panoramic views and wildlife spotting, including vibrant birdlife.
In the afternoon, enjoy an exhilarating zipline adventure, soaring through the forest for a thrilling perspective of Nyungwe’s lush landscapes.
Day 3: Chimpanzee Trekking & Rope Course Adventure
Rise early and start the drive at 5:00am heading for a guided chimpanzee trekking experience. Explore the dense rainforest with expert guides, observing chimpanzees in their natural habitat and learning about conservation efforts.
In the late afternoon after lunch, return to Nyungwe Adventure Park for a fun and active rope course, connecting with the forest environment in an adventurous way.
Day 4: Colobus Monkey Trek & Kamiranzovu Waterfall Hike
Start the day with a guided colobus monkey trek, searching for these striking primates moving through the forest canopy.
Afterward, embark on a scenic hike to Kamiranzovu Waterfall, typically 2–3 hours round-trip. Enjoy the lush forest, birdlife, and serene sounds of flowing water along the trail, culminating in the stunning waterfall.
Return to the lodge in the afternoon for relaxation and overnight.
Day 5: Tea Plantation, Lake Kivu & Return to Kigali
After breakfast, visit a nearby tea plantation and factory, experiencing tea picking and production firsthand while enjoying panoramic views of the estates.
Continue the scenic drive toward Kigali, stopping at Lake Kivu for a lakeside lunch and optional short boat ride to one of the islands, soaking in the tranquil atmosphere.
Arrive in Kigali in the evening, concluding your memorable five-day adventure through Nyungwe’s wildlife, culture, and breathtaking landscapes.
