Experience Rwanda’s wildlife, primates, and culture on this 7-day adventure. Explore Akagera National Park on day and night safaris, trek playful golden monkeys and majestic mountain gorillas in Volcanoes National Park, and immerse yourself in Rwanda’s scenic landscapes and cultural heritage.
Day 1 - Arrival in Kigali
Arrive at Kigali International Airport and transfer to your hotel. Settle in and enjoy dinner.
Day 2 - Kigali City Tour & Drive to Akagera National Park
Morning Kigali city tour including the Kigali Genocide Memorial. Drive east to Akagera National Park, stopping for lunch en route. In the evening, enjoy a sunset boat cruise on Lake Ihema, spotting hippos, crocodiles, and waterbirds.
Day 3 - Full-Day Game Drive & Night Safari
Early morning full-day game drive across Akagera, with picnic lunch beside scenic lakes. Spot rhinos,elephants, giraffes, zebras, lions, and more. Check in at your lodge at karenge bush camp enjoy a night game drive to see nocturnal wildlife then Diner and over night.
Day 4 - Morning Game Drive & Drive to Musanze
Early morning game drive at 5:30 AM, then breakfast and check-out. Scenic drive northwest to Musanze, stopping for lunch along the way. Arrive and relax at your lodge.
Day 5 - Golden Monkey Trekking & Dian Fossey Center
After breakfast you drive to the park headquarters for briefing, then head for golden monkeys in Volcanoes National Park’s bamboo forests. Visit the Dian Fossey Research Center afterwards to learn about gorilla conservation. Later after lunch, you drive to the Twin Lakes (Burera & Ruhondo) for beyond the gorilla activities, scenic views and photos.
Day 6 - Gorilla Trekking & Leisure
Early morning briefing at Volcanoes National Park headquarters, then embark on mountain gorilla trekking. Spend an unforgettable hour with a habituated gorilla family. Return to the lodge for lunch and relax amidst the stunning volcanic scenery.
Day 7 – Cultural Experiences & Departure
Depending on your schedule, enjoy optional cultural visits to local markets or craft centers. Drive back to Kigali for airport transfer, concluding your 7-day Rwanda safari and gorilla adventure.
