Day 1: Kigali → Musanze (Kinigi) | City Tour & Dian Fossey Campus
Upon arrival at Kigali International Airport or pick-up from your hotel, begin with a short Kigali city tour, offering a brief introduction to Rwanda’s history, culture, and transformation.
After the city visit, drive north to Musanze (Kinigi) through Rwanda’s picturesque countryside.
Enjoy en-route lunch in a nice Restaurent on the way to Musanze
In the afternoon, visit the Dian Fossey – Ellen DeGeneres Campus, where you’ll learn about mountain gorilla conservation, research, and Dian Fossey’s legacy.
Proceed to your lodge near Volcanoes National Park for check-in, dinner, and overnight.
Day 2: Volcanoes National Park | Gorilla Trekking & Cultural Experience
After an early breakfast, transfer to the Volcanoes National Park headquarters for a detailed ranger briefing. You will then begin your mountain gorilla trekking experience through bamboo forests and volcanic slopes.
Once you encounter a habituated gorilla family, spend one magical hour observing their behavior, interactions, and family dynamics an unforgettable wildlife moment.
Return to the lodge for lunch and relaxation.
If time allows, enjoy an evening cultural visit to a local community to experience traditional dances, crafts, and daily life around the park.
Dinner and overnight at the lodge.
Day 3: Volcanoes National Park | Dian Fossey Research Center Hike
After breakfast, set off for a guided hike to the former Dian Fossey Research Center, located between Mount Karisimbi and Mount Bisoke. This hike takes you through lush forest trails to Fossey’s original research site and final resting place, offering deeper insight into her groundbreaking work in gorilla conservation.
Enjoy a picnic lunch during the hike before descending back to the lodge.
The evening is at leisure relax, enjoy the scenery, or unwind at the lodge.
Dinner and overnight.
Day 4: Volcanoes National Park | Golden Monkey Trekking → Kigali
This morning, return to Volcanoes National Park for a Golden Monkey trekking experience. These rare and playful primates are known for their energy and colorful appearance, making the trek both fun and rewarding.
The activity usually concludes by midday. Afterward, enjoy a quick lunch before driving back to Kigali. Drop-off at your hotel or Kigali International Airport marks the end of your safari.
